Are you passionate about making a difference but unsure where to start? We organized the Youth Engagement Summit a leadership conference, which equipped over 100 students with the tools and confidence to be civically engaged in critical conversations about advocacy. Our presenters were U.S Congressman, Max Rose; Sara Abouh, member of the Soudanese Parliament and Associate Protection Officer with the United Nations; a Youth Organizer at Make the Road New York, Perla Liberato; and Douglas Israel, BMCC Director of Government and Community Relations. They spoke about Immigration Reform and Advocacy, International Human Rights and Global Awareness, and Civic Engagement and Lobbying Skills Workshop.

I joined forces with students, faculty, and alumni in Albany over the weekend to urge New York State lawmakers for more funding for the City University of New York's education initiatives. Our passionate voices resonated, and several legislators expressed enthusiastic support for increased funding! Together, we proved that we truly are the agents of change!
